What is a potential analysis?
A potential analysis is a targeted method for evaluating individuals by identifying their strengths, weaknesses and unique potential. It helps pinpoint and nurture the growth opportunities of promising employees within your organization, offering clear guidance on career paths and the skills required to pursue them.
This process involves a blend of qualitative and quantitative methods, with a strong emphasis on learning and self-reflection. Participants receive personalized feedback that highlights their strengths and areas for development, along with a detailed report outlining their growth potential.
Empowering employees through potential analysis
Every employee has untapped potential that can remain hidden, even after years of work. Potential includes the talents, skills and knowledge that are present but haven’t yet been fully developed. A potential analysis helps uncover this hidden value. With these insights, companies can collaborate with employees to implement strategies that enhance the necessary skills and fully realize their potential. In today’s competitive job market, where the shortage of skilled workers is a growing concern, rethinking talent development is crucial. A potential analysis can help you identify and cultivate the right talent within your organization.
How does a potential analysis work?
For an individual potential analysis, also known as a short assessment, the process starts with defining the goals in collaboration with the client, similar to the approach used in an extensive assessment center. This half-day analysis, conducted by experienced psychologists, includes a semi-structured interview, performance tests and a personality questionnaire. Immediately afterward, both the participant and the employer receive brief feedback, followed by a detailed report with specific recommendations for development.
What’s the difference between a potential analysis and a development center?
A development center typically lasts a full day and provides a more comprehensive assessment, while a potential analysis is shorter and more focused.
