We’re celebrating 35 years of MANRES
For 35 years, Manres has stood for success, cohesion, and fulfillment in organizational and personal development. What began in 1990 as a vision in Zurich is now an international company with a strong presence in Zurich and Berlin. A company that has established itself as a trusted partner in corporate transformation, leadership development, and team development.
What Defines us: People Are at The Centre
In 2025, we proudly look back on 35 years of experience in which we have successfully guided over 1,000 companies, 500 leaders, and our valued partners and clients through deep and demanding transformations.
Manres combines psychology with the logic of business management, focusing on the holistic development of individuals, teams, and organizations. This is reflected in the success of our clients:
– Frank Dopheide, CEO Handelsblatt Media Group, 2019
Our unique programs are characterized by their practical relevance and tailored consulting.
NPS 80: You Recommend us — And we Are Proud of it
In 2025, we celebrated not only our 35th anniversary but also a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 80, reflecting the trust and satisfaction of our clients. The NPS is calculated by subtracting the percentage of detractors from the percentage of promoters and ranges from -100 to +100.
An NPS of 80 is considered exceptional and reflects excellent customer satisfaction. We are proud to be recommended and valued as a trusted partner.
– Marco Uehlinger, CEO Markstein AG, 2018
We say thank you for the valuable feedback from our clients.
Bridging science and practice: long-standing partnership with the University of St. Gallen
A milestone for Manres was the early and close collaboration with the Executive School of the University of St. Gallen, which began in 2006. This partnership enabled us to contribute to leadership development and organizational psychology in top programs and workshops. Manres subsequently received teaching assignments in the diploma program “Managing Growth in Technology Firms” (TU-HSG) and the Executive MBA-HSG. This collaboration enabled Thomas Gutzwiller, Professor at the University of St. Gallen and Chairman of the Board at Manres, to say:
Thomas Gutzwiller, Mitglied des Verwaltungsrat Manres
Bis heute ist Manres mit dem Beitrag von CEO Prof. Dr. Peter Fankhauser Teil des Executive Programms an der HSG und gibt Führungspersönlichkeiten wertvolle Einblicke in erfolgreiche Führung.
Prof. Dr. Peter Fankhauser, CEO Manres
The long-standing collaboration with the University of St. Gallen (HSG) has not only expanded our expertise but also significantly shaped our leadership approach.

Together with our clients, we create the foundation for sustainable success and innovation.
Our Journey Continues: Leading Transformation Into The Future
More than 35 years have passed, and our journey continues. We remain true to our core belief: people are the key to economic success. In an increasingly complex and digital working world, we are your partner for supporting transformation through authentic leadership, psychological safety, and sustainable development.
What's Next For Manres:
- AI and more — people remain at the center: Like our clients, we are increasingly engaging with digital transformation and the use of AI. One thing is clear: digitalization is advancing rapidly, but wherever people come together and communicate, the human factor remains essential. That’s where our work becomes even more important.
- Expanding collaboration with universities: At the end of 2025, we will launch the «Talent Booster» program in cooperation with the Technical University of Munich (TUM), one of Europe’s leading universities — a learning journey that combines the best of science and practice.
- Practice-oriented leadership development with the Manres Academy: We plan to further expand the Manres Academy and develop even more hands-on workshops for leaders. These workshops help deepen knowledge, build confidence, and enable leaders to develop solution-oriented concepts together with experts — concepts that can be directly applied within their organizations.
We look forward to the next 35 years of collaboration and transformation!
Milestones in our history: from today into the past
2023-2024: Launch of the Manres Academy
In 2023, we founded the Manres Academy to offer leaders a platform for personal and professional growth through practical workshops and training. This complements our portfolio and strengthens our holistic approach to leadership development and organizational consulting.
2022: Peter Fankhauser becomes CEO and majority shareholder
In 2022, Peter Fankhauser assumed the role of CEO at Manres and became the majority shareholder. With 25 years of experience as CEO of major corporations, he brought valuable expertise to the company. Under his leadership, Manres pursues an even more holistic consulting approach focused on combining psychology and business logic. This year also saw the development of new programs, including tailored leadership and mentoring programs for CEOs and C-level roles, strategic development and restructuring support, and Next Gen programs designed for family businesses.
2022 to present: Claudia Spiegel becomes Managing Partner
Claudia Spiegel, a long-standing and pivotal figure at Manres, became Managing Partner and shareholder in 2022. From 2011 to 2022, she played a key role in the development and growth of Manres in various leadership functions.
2013 – Expansion and Reorientation
With new offices in Hamburg and Munich and the introduction of innovative team development and leadership programs, Manres set new standards. Especially noteworthy are our customized executive coaching and train-the-trainer formats.
2006-2007 – Collaboration with the University of St. Gallen
Another milestone was the close cooperation with the Executive School of the University of St. Gallen, beginning in 2006. This partnership allowed us to contribute to top programs and workshops in leadership development and organizational psychology.
2000 – International Market Entry
In the early 2000s, Manres expanded into the DACH region and the USA to support companies through deep transformation processes — with a focus on leadership diagnostics and C-level team support through our assessment centers.
1990 – Founding of Manres in Zurich
Manres was founded by Philipp Johner, a psychologist, philosopher, and entrepreneur who recognized the importance of people as key to economic success and focused on the integration of psychology, business, and philosophy. Our name reflects this: «Man» stands for people, «Res» for the matter at hand.
Thank you for 35 years of trust. The journey continues.
Our path has been shaped by long-standing partnerships — with our clients, universities, and companions.
We say thank you — for your trust, for meaningful encounters, and for co-created transformations. And we look forward to everything that lies ahead.
